A TREASURE BOOK, "BRAIDED KITCHEN"

The newest and classic book by the great Jessica B. Harris
1

It has been my good fortune to know Dr. Jessica B. Harris for many years through our mutual love of learning, traveling and teaching. She is that rare combination of brilliant scholar and a raucous, refined storyteller. Her new book is out and that is what brings me here today. First you will see me chat about a long revered work of hers. But it is also great news to see she has just published her newest work. Please watch my video and then, if you haven’t already, go get your copy of, “Braided Kitchen”! I got mine from the great ‘Kitchen Arts & Letters’ via their online store. ‘KAL’ is a fantastic source for all things to do with food and drink!

She wrote this about my memoir for which I am deeply honored.

“Part Kitchen Confidential, part On the Road and completely Norman Van Aken, No Experience Necessary is a picaresque tale of a life well-lived, in which food has played a major role. It is a delectable view of the education of a culinary star and comes complete with recipes that round out each chapter. So pull up a chair, pour a glass of the good red and savor! Bon appétit!”

Jessica Harris, food historian, professor, lecturer, and author of High on The Hog: A Culinary Journey from Africa to America and (now!) “Braided Kitchen”.
